“Carne and myself have created a platform over the past few months where we can release tunes we make and invite others to do the same. I thought this podcast was a nice opportunity to further generate a bit of conceptual backstory to the universe we’re imagining.
The basic idea was taking influence from video game audio, especially games like Play Dead studio’s Limbo, where Martin Stig Andersen created the music and the sound design to work perfectly with one another even manipulating both of these components to inform the game narrative.
I tried to take the listener on a journey following the character you can hear walking about. The character travels through different ‘futuristic’ spaces made from subtly tweaked field recordings to extend beyond reality a tiny bit. There’s one point I tried to simulate the character briefly visiting a club somewhere. Hopefully it pairs off well with the musical content too.
